JEE Advanced 2014

bullet Eligibility for JEE (Advanced): The students who are eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2014 should register online by logging on to http://jeeadv.iitkgp.ac.in after declaration of JEE (Main) 2014 results. Those candidates who are eligible to write JEE (Advanced)-2014 are the 1,50,000 of the top scorers of Paper-1 of JEE(Main)-2014, including all categories. Those students who have appeared in their qualifying examination before 2013 are not eligible.

bullet Date of examination:May 25, 2014 

bullet Day of examination: Sunday

bullet Schedule of examination:

          bullet Paper 1: 09:00 am to 12:00 pm

          bullet Paper 2: 02:00 pm to 05:00 pm

 

bullet Pattern of examination: Two separate objective type papers with multiple choice questions with separate parts on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

bullet Fee structure:

          bullet For males: Rs. 2000/- for General and OBC categories and Rs. 1000/- for SC, ST and PwD.

          bullet For females: No fees

          bullet For overseas candidates: US$220

JEE Main 

bullet JEE Main 2014will be conducted by JEE Apex board. This time Gujarat, Odisha and Maharashtra would also be participating.

bullet After qualifying this examination and other specified criteria, a student is eligible to take admission in NITs, IIITs, Centrally funded technical institutions and State Government institutions that are participating. A candidate wishing to take admission in IITs or ISM Dhanbad must appear for JEE Main.

bullet Pattern of examination:

          bullet Paper 1 (BE/BTech): Pen and paper OR Computer-based examination having objective type questions with equal weightage to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

          bullet Paper 2 (B.Arch./B.Planning for institutions other than IITs): Only pen and paper based examination having objective type questions in Mathematics and aptitude test and test for aptitude in Drawing.

bullet Date of examination:

          bullet For pen and paper based examination: April 6, 2014

                bullet Paper 1: 09.30 am to 12.30 pm

                bullet Paper 2: 02.00 pm to 05.00 pm

          bullet For computer based examination: April 09/11/12/19, 2014

                 bullet Paper 1 only: First shift - 09.30 am to 12.30 pm; second shift if required 02.00 pm to 05.00 pm 

bullet Eligibility criteria w.r.t date of birth as recorded in Secondary education board/University certificate:

          bullet General candidates: Born on or after 01.10.1989

          bullet SC/ST/PwD candidates: Born on or after 01.10.1984

bullet Eligibility criteria w.r.t. minimum academic qualification:

          bullet Those candidates who have qualified their Class 12th examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2012 or 2013.

          bullet Those candidates who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2014.

bullet Eligibility criteria w.r.t. number of attempts: Three attempts

bullet Criteria for merit list: 40% weightage will be given to school Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent examination after normalization and 60% weightage to JEE(Main).

bullet Information bulletin: Can be downloaded from www.jeemain.nic.in by November second week

bullet Application: Only online application can be done between 15.11.13 to 26.12.13 by logging on to JEE Main 2014 website. List of Facilitation Centers is available on JEE Main website and in information bulletin.

bullet Fee structure for examination in India:

          bullet For Paper 1 OR Paper of JEE Main pen and paper based examination:

               bullet For males: Rs. 1000/- for General and OBC categories and Rs. 500/- for SC, ST and PwD.

               bullet For females: Rs. 500/- for all categories

           bullet For Paper 1 computer based examination:

               bullet For males: Rs. 600/- for General and OBC categories and Rs. 300/- for SC, ST and PwD.

               bullet For females: Rs. 300/- for all categories

           bullet For Paper 1 AND Paper of JEE Main pen and paper based examination:

               bullet For males: Rs. 1800/- for General and OBC categories and Rs. 900/- for SC, ST and PwD.

               bullet For females: Rs. 900/- for all categories

            bullet For Paper 1 computer based examination:

               bullet For males: Rs. 1400/- for General and OBC categories and Rs. 700/- for SC, ST and PwD.

               bullet For females: Rs. 700/- for all categories

The fee can be paid through debit/credit cards (in this case 1.2% additional processing charge and service tax will be applicable) or through e-challan.

bullet Minimum academic qualification for appearing in JEE (Main): Candidate must have passed in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination. The candidate appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination in 2014 may also appear provisionally in JEE(Main) 2014.
